InfoLogica Fusion Framework is a Universal integration backbone which acts as a shared messaging layer for connecting applications and other services throughout an enterprise computing infrastructure. It supplements its core asynchronous messaging backbone with intelligent transformation and routing to ensure messages are passed reliably. Services participate in the framework using the web services messaging standards

Infologica Web Services Framework is the backbone of the Infologica Fusion Framework which together with the Message Queuing Middleware, File System Watcher, Job Scheduler and Workflow Engine lays the foundation for the Service Oriented Architecture.

Our Web Services Framework enables seamless exposure of any application service registered with the Infologica Fusion component container as a web service providing a secure cross-platform scalable interface to the internal and external infrastructure assets. It allows developers and business users to rapidly deliver new solutions that create, validate, enrich, transform, route and process Xml messages with minimum disruption of existing systems and maximum leveraging of existing assets and skills.

By helping organisations reuse existing application and infrastructure investments to create powerful and reusable Web services, Infologica's Fusion Framework lays the foundation for service-oriented architecture (SOA) and event-driven architecture (EDA). Specifically, Inflogica's Web Service Framework:
  • Optimises utilisation of an organisation’s most skilled and expensive IT resources by reducing and encapsulating IT complexity.
  • Eliminates most custom integration code
  • Simplifies the skill sets needed for design, deployment, and maintenance of services

This mitigates project and maintenance risk, speeds project implementations, and reduces project cost as well as the ongoing cost and risk of maintenance. Ultimately, organisations benefit through faster delivery of cost savings and new revenue generation, easier business process changes, better management visibility into IT projects, and lower Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) for integration projects.

Every aspect of the Infologica Web Services Framework is designed around a completely modular architecture and they are all designed to be extended and adapted as your needs change and grow

Fig.1 Infologica Web Services Framework Architecture

The Web Services Framework is built on top of the .NET Framework and includes the following software components:

  • WSF SOAP Listener – XML Security Gateway which intercepts and processes HTTP/HTTPS requests, validates client certificates, their proof-of- possession and message integrity, non-repudiation, decrypts the data, manages call context, invokes business components or routes the cryptographically endorsed messages to the internal or external infrastructure.
  • WSF Infrastructure Service Adapters - provide Connectivity to the Backend Data and Business Services (Mainframe Oracle, SQL Server) as well as transparent messaging protocol, network transport, data formatting and serialization (SOAP, Http, Ftp, Tcp, Sms, FileSystem, Zip)
  • WSF Service Manager – provides the unified command interface to the Infologica Infrastructure Service Adapters. Instantiates, Validates and executes service command against the backend service invoking the corresponding Service Provider.
  • WSF System Core Library - provides generic API for data validation, message formatting, serialization, call impersonation, environment management.
  • WSF Command Invocation Service – allows to execute command under the identity of authenticated account.
  • WSF Log Storage Manager Service – Processes the incoming messages from the Message Queue and stores them in the SQL server or Oracle Audit Database.
  • Microsoft IIS Server – hosts WSF SOAP Listener.
  • MS Message Queuing Service - Provides a communications infrastructure for distributed, asynchronous messaging applications.
  • MS Message Queuing Trigger Service - Associates the arrival of incoming messages at a queue with functionality in a COM component or a stand-alone executable program.
  • Web Services Management Console – Allows for secure cross-environment management and deployment of the Web Services Configuration Settings.
  • Web Services Audit/Log Viewer – provides web visual interface to the log/audit and performance information in the WSF SQL Server or Oracle Audit DB.

Key Features:

  • Universal Web Centric Data Access for the multi-platform clients via the W3C Web Services Standard.
  • Physical and logical separation of the client and the server via the Global XML/Distributed Network Application architecture.
  • Seamless production system upgrade by the replacement of the isolated tiers without affecting the functionality and the interfaces of the internal and external clients.
  • Abstraction of the Data Access logic for all clients regardless of the Data Provider (Mainframe, Oracle, SQL Server, etc.)
  • Transparent messaging protocol, network transport, data formatting and serialization for all clients regardless of the functionality and targeted backend.
  • Generic Asynchronous SOAP-based communication model.
  • Generic Security Access and Data Encryption based on the SOAP and PKI Digital Certificate standards.
  • Full control over the business logic, user access and data validation rules on the level of the middle-tier framework.
  • Extendable Infrastructure Services Adapter List (SQL Server, Oracle, Mainframe, COM/DCOM, OLEDB, TCP, SMS, FileSystem, Http, SOAP)

If you intend to install the product on the machine with no or limited internet connection you have to download each MSI package separatelly from the Infologica product download area.

Infologica Fusion Framework provides Administrators with the single point of management of the Fusion Enterprise Services accross different environments. For this reason the Infologica Fusion Management Tools are packaged separatelly from the Infologica Fusion Enterprise Services so they could be intsalled on the separate boxes in the more secure local area network. The following packages should be installed to provide the Web Services Administration:
